Malaysia’s first blended protein supplement.

In 2009, several academicians and healthcare practitioners decided to create an innovative formula that could fulfill the demand for a premium modular protein that could overcome the challenges. With the collaboration of food scientists specializing in protein from New Zealand, a unique blend combining whey protein isolate and hydrolyzed whey protein was developed.

In 2014, Ceprolac completed its clinical study and was introduced as Malaysia’s first blended modular protein supplement. It quickly attracted the attention of healthcare practitioners and secured its place in government hospitals, private hospitals, cancer institutes, and dialysis centers. In April 2018, the publication of the study further boosted user confidence.

Unlike whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate undergoes another round of filtration to remove more impurities, thus yielding a whey product with over 90% protein content and less than 1% lactose content. In addition, the whey protein isolate in Ceprolac is obtained via a cation exchange process, which yields a higher percentage of branched-chain amino acids to support muscle protein synthesis.

The inclusion of hydrolyzed whey protein enhances protein digestion and absorption. While protein hydrolysis into peptides aids absorption, it also creates a bitter taste in whey protein. To improve palatability, Ceprolac is infused with a light vanilla flavor to mask the bitterness and encourage compliance.

These innovations contribute to minimal issues with intolerance, improved compliance, and most importantly, a better overall outcome for patients or consumers.
